To achieve optimal esthetics, the experienced clinician is required to develop the proper treatment sequence and use grafting procedures that address any patient deficiencies. This presentation highlights the management of complex case scenarios. Emphasis is placed on meeting patient expectations and ensuring long-term stability for enhanced treatment outcomes.

Course Objectives

  • Learn which augmentation techniques are most successful in regenerating bone contours and volume for ideal implant positioning.
  • Use proper diagnostic evaluation to determine appropriate surgical treatment for severely resorbed alveolar ridges.
  • Differentiate the complications associated with grafting procedures.
  • Learn to minimize complications with advanced surgical procedures.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Peter K. Moy, DMD, is a professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the UCLA School of Dentistry in Los Angeles, California, and was recently named the Nobel Biocare Endowed Chair in Surgical Implant Dentistry. Dr Moy is also director of the UCLA Dental Implant Center, the Straumann Surgical Dental Clinic, and the Nobel Biocare Surgical Fellowship Program. He is an associate editor of the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants and is active in several professional organizations, including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr Moy is a past president of the Academy of Osseointegration. He maintains a private practice in Brentwood, California.
