Some time ago, I started to use the Zachrisson-type transpalatal arch design in my practice, and I have found that it really works. Particularly in vertical cases with severely rotated molars, the custom-made design appears preferable to the standard preformed Goshgarian-type transpalatal arches. Most of the time, I use an indirect approach for its fabrication. It would be interesting to learn why and how you came up with your design for the customized version, and get some practical tips on the preferred method to make and bend it. Can you also provide some theoretical considerations regarding the usefulness of transpalatal arches in clinical practice?
