About the Editor

Efthimia K. Basdra is currently associate professor in the Department of Orthodontics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Greece. She received her dental degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and she graduated from Columbia University Dental School, New York, USA, where she was trained in orthodontics. She received her doctorate degree and her habilitation title from the University of Heidelberg, Germany.

Dr Basdra is a reviewer for all major orthodontic journals, including the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics, European Journal of Orthodontics, Angle Orthodontics, and Journal of Craniofacial Research, as well for several basic research journals, such as Journal of Dental Research, FEBS Letters, Histochemistry and Cell Biology, and Proteomics. She has received numerous awards, among them the prestigious Arnold Biber Preis from the German Society of Orthodontics.

Dr Basdra has been an invited lecturer at several international meetings and society congresses. Her research focus is the biological basis of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
