This report presents a possible prosthetic solution after a maxillary onlay bone graft with single-step implant therapy had failed due to herpetic infection of soft tissue, bacterial infection of the transplant, and loss of parts of the transplants and implants. Prosthetic success was nevertheless possible thanks to a combination of antiviral, antibacterial oral chemotherapy and laser therapy.
