The physical characteristics of pulsed radiation delivered by three different commercially available Erbium laser systems were investigated. To collect real field data and avoid the evaluation of laboratory values provided by many manufacturers, each of the systems chosen has been in practical use for at least 6 months. The results are compared to the physical requirements for cavity preparation with the least collateral damage.
