The Cerec system facilitates the restoration of occlusal surface areas of any extent—from the small, single-surface cavity up to the entire occlusal surface, several design modes are available with Extrapolation, Correlation, and Function. Whereas the Extrapolation mode with or without tooth database has proven itself a suitable design method for inlay construction, further information is needed for the safe design of cusp replacement and full occlusal restoration.
