About the Editor
George A. Zarb, BChD, DDS, MS, MS, FRCD(C) has been
professor and head of prosthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry,
University of Toronto, for all of his academic career. He
has lectured nationally and internationally, and has written
several papers on different aspects of prosthodontics. He
has coauthored 13 textbooks and contributed chapters to
several others. His current research is in the field of
implant prosthodontics and he has had a private practice
limited to prosthodontics for the last 37 years. He is the
recipient of numerous awards and honors including an Honorary
Doctorate of Science from the University of Gothenburg,
Sweden, an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Dalhousie, University,
Canada, and the 1993 International Association for Dental
Research Award for Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry.
Dr Zarb was also awarded an Honorary MD from his original
alma mater, the University of Malta, as well as an Honorary
Fellowship from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of
England. Dr Zarb is past president of both the International
College of Prosthodontists and the Academy of Prosthodontics.
