Objective: To construct a 3-D auricular model. Methods: Laser scanning was used to collect data from an auricular cast; fused deposition manufacturing (a rapid prototyping technique) was used to fabricate a three-dimensional model of the ear. Results: The reconstructed model was accurate. Conclusion: The technique of rapid prototyping is precise, convenient, effective, and safe for auricular prostheses.
