Objective: To evaluate the inhibitory effect of Comfort denture adhesive (Comfort-DA), which was developed by the authors, on the growth of Candida albicans. Materials and Methods: Eluates of the developed Comfort-DA were diluted with sterilized water to 75%, 50%, and 10% concentrations, while antifungal medicine was used as the positive control and sterilized water as the negative control. All the said solutions were maintained at 30°C for about 24 hours, then the diameters of inhibitory fungi loops were measured. Results: All concentrations of Comfort-DA had a significant effect of inhibition on the growth of Candida albicans. Conclusion: The generally favorable in vitro evaluation of Comfort-DA showed that it could inhibit the growth of Candida albicans.
