Orthodontic tooth movement following guided tissue regeneration: Report of three cases

Nemcovsky/Zubery/Artzi/Lieberman

This report presents three patients with advanced adult period ontitis and in which orthodontic tooth movement was performed subsequent to guided tissue regeneration procedures. Clinical follow-up showed a mean 3.3-mm attachment gain in the deepest preoperative probing depth sites, and radiographs revealed bone fill following guided tissue regeneration procedures with resorbable and nonresorbable membranes, with and without the use of demineralized freeze-dried bone allograft. Orthodontic tooth movement into the regenerated areas was successful. The feasibility of orthodontic tooth movement following successful regenerative procedures is discussed.
