Severely impacted canines: Autotransplantation as an alternative

Although orthodontic repositioning of impacted teeth is widely used, the treatment has its limitations. Autotranspl antation is an alternative therapy that may be used in selected cases of severe impaction of when orthodontic repositioning is unsuccessful. Two case reports are presented to illustrate the use of the technique in patients with severely impacted canines. Indications and limitations are discussed.
