Complications from intraoral vertical subsigmoid osteotomy: review of literature and report of two cases

The introral vertical subsigmoid osteotomy has been a frequently used orthognathic surgical technique for Class III reduction, generally with few complications. This is aliterature review and report of unusual cases with complications resulting in replacement of the temporomandibular joint. The complications are discussed and corection is described.
