The decision to save or extract a tooth in the esthetic zone is one of the more complex decisions that a practitioner must make. A tooth with a compromised prognosis may require periodontal regeneration, soft tissue grafting, and/or other therapies such as endodontics or orthodontics. Extraction and implant therapy may involve papillary loss, insufficient bone, and spacing and esthetic issues. There are also financial and psychological factors to consider. This session will focus on what should and should not be done in the esthetic zone and how to best treat this area with a multiŽdisciplinary approach.
