Dental implants have long been established as one of the most predictable treatment options for the successful restoration of missing teeth. However, there is an increasing body of knowledge showing that biologic complications around implants are a clinical reality. Even though definitive solutions and treatments remain unclear, there is growing consensus around defining peri-implant diseases. In this volume, all aspects of peri-implant diseases are thoroughly discussed, from their etiology to their treatment. In addition, the authors provide invaluable recommendations and evidence-based clinical guidelines, for which the ITI is renowned. A total of 17 clinical cases are presented by experienced clinicians from all over the world to illustrate the diagnosis and treatment of peri-implant diseases. This information is based in part on the proceedings of the 6th ITI Consensus Conference held in Amsterdam in 2018, as well as on a review of the current literature.
